Like most other human disorders, your dog can develop diabetes. It's actually pretty common for dogs to develop diabetes. You'll find many older dogs and many overweight dogs suffering from diabetes. But what you should remember is that diabetes is treatable, and it is not a death sentence for your dog.
Signs of canine diabetes typically include:
* Increased hunger
* Excessive thirst
* Excessive urination
You may also notice that your dog may experience lethargy, weight loss, vomitting, and depression, if the diabetes goes untreated for a longer period of time.
With the first signs of diabetes, you should try to have yoru vet check out your dog, because if caught early, you can start insulin injections so that you can keep your dog's blood sugar levels in check.
Your vet will show you and fully explain to you all the information that you need about how to inject insulin into yoru dog, as most of the time it will be a daily shot that your dog needs, and it's just too much trouble in most cases to go to the vet for that daily shot.
