Delta has the most airline deaths for pets flying.
There were 35 pet deaths in 2011, and 19 of them were on Delta flights. There were also 5 injured pets who flew with Delta
Delta denies that the pets were mishandled, and they deny that there is a problem. But compare 19 deaths to 5 with American Airlines, 4 with Alaska Airlines, 3 with Continental, 2 with Hawaiian Airlines, and 2 with United.
When flying with any airline, make sure that you have your pet checked prior to the flight. You want to ensure that your pet is 100% healthy and ready for a airplane ride.
Also, take any precautions that you need to before the flight. Ensure that your pet has the proper crate.
