Feeding your family cat is just is a very important aspect of the cat's health and well-being. You want to make sure that your're feeding your cat the best foods that you can, in order to ensure the best health.
You can choose between dry food and can food, or you can make your own homemade cat food. Either way, in the end, it's really up to you what you feed your cat, but you should know the difference between the different types of cat food.
* Wet food is usually made with real meats and generally a higher water content, lower carbohydrates, and lower grains.
* Dry food is generally made of meal meals; they are great to ensure healthy teeth, but can cause a higher alkaline level in your cat.
* Homemade diets can be very healthy, but time consuming to make. You have to know which human foods are not safe for your cat to eat.
Thet best diet for cats is typically a mix of dry and wet foods.
When feeding your cat, you want to create a schedule, to some degree. This feeding schedule is not as important in cats as it is when feeding dogs, but a good schedule will help.
You can provide a fresh bit of dry food in the morning, leaving it out for your cat to nibble on throughout the day, and then at night, feed the cat a little can food mixed with some more dry food.
Cats are typically nibblers, but you want to be able to portion how much he eats, as obesity can be a big concern.
