Feline Diabetes

Cats, like dogs, can develop diabetes, and just like in dogs, feline diabetes is treatable and not a death sentence. If you catch the warning signs of feline diabetes, you will be able to get your cat diagnosed quickly. And, it's always best to diagnose earlier than later with any illness.
The common signs of diabetes in cats include extreme weight changes, extreme thirst, excessive urination, lethargy, big appetite, difficulty moving, and abnormal positions.
You will find that once you start to see the initial signs of diabetes in your cat, they symptoms will jsut progressively worsen, so it is best to see your vet as soon as you can, so that you can start treatment options.
There are different treatment options for feline diabetes, but for the most part you will more than likely need to give yoru cat daily insulin injections to keep his blood sugar levels in check. There are other holistic things that you can do to help your cat with the symptoms of diabetes, such as diet changes, but the insulin injections will be the best treatment option in most cases.
