How do I know if my cat has allergies?

Your cat can have allergies just like you and I can have allergies. Typically, you'll find that cats are allergic to an ingredient in the cat food, fleas, an inhalent, or a contact allergen. If you notice that your cat is sneezing, itching, and acting a little funny, you should consider that you cat may have an allergy.
If it's seasonal, then your cat may have flea allergy or a pollen allergy, whereas if you notice itching (for example) year round with little ease, the problem may be a food or contact allergy, such as the material of the cat's collar or bedding.
If your cat has an allergy, you may notice some of the following signs:
* Sneezing
* Itching
* Runny nose
* Discharge in the eyes
