How to Toilet Train Your Cat

If you've seen 'Meet the Focker's,' you've seen Jinxy the cat potty in the toilet.
Believe it or not, but you can train your cat to do this, which means you don't have to clean a litter box ever again!
There are different devices that you may want to try, and there are books that you can buy.
But, the process is fairly simple.
Start with moving your cat's litter box by the toilet that you want him to use. Make sure that your cat is comfortable with using the litter box where you've moved it. After a few days, or a week, put a box or thick book underneath the litter box to raise it. Wait another few days to ensure your cat is again comfortable with the change. Then, raise it again with another book or a taller box. Keep doing this until the box is raised to the height of the toilet. Then place the litter box on the toilet.
Once your cat is adjusted, it's time to remove the litter box and replace it with a large bowl. Place litter in the bowl and place the bowl inside the toilet. It will take several weeks for your cat to get used to using the bowl this way, but once he does, start to decrease the amount of litter that is in the bowl.
You will have to dump the bowl quickly after your cat has used it in order to prevent him from trying to cover and dig.
Once you've reduced the amount of litter to about a tablespoon, start adding water. Once your cat is used to this, remove the bowl.
If you notice that your cat is resisting at any of the steps, go backwards a step because that means your cat just wasn't ready to move forward yet. Positive reinforcement is very important with this training.
